(THE LONG VERSION)

High-school - 2015

Present-day!
10+ years, 10,000+ projects, those are some big numbers! It definitely didn't happen overnight, so let's rewind a little...
All my life, I've had a creative flame that could never quite be put out, and it started right from the school yard as a kid. I always loved doing silly impressions and acting like different made-up characters in front of my friends (I even got in trouble for imitating a phone vibration to fool my geography teacher... good times.)
When I got older and entered high school, I dove into content creation and short films, making little passion projects about whatever I could think of at the time, all on an old Sony camcorder with the help of some friends (who are now my besties!) I was starting to find my place, and that place was media. This is when I first discovered the voiceover industry, specifically in 2015, my second year of high school. I started voicing fan projects online, and this eventually grew into a peer-to-peer business model where my friends (and their friends) would pay me to do impressions. My first thought was, "Wait, I can make money doing this?" Yes Nick, yes you can.
When it came time for college, I wanted to expand my skillset. I took a whole variety of courses involving broadcasting and media production, eventually finding a place in live production and video editing. With the help of my professors, I landed a few live event esports gigs in Toronto, specifically for Red Bull and Telus, where I handled graphics for the live broadcast and production assistance. As time went on, I took on more and more gigs, but in my final year, my audio production class lit a spark in me like no other avenue I've journeyed down so far. In a full circle moment, I was once again fully invested in doing voiceovers.
After I graduated with an advanced diploma (and made the honor roll list, woohoo!) I bought a used condenser microphone, lined my closet with a large wool blanket, and started auditioning for different projects. It's safe to say... that was the best decision I've ever made.
Throughout my time behind the mic, I’ve developed a vocal range that lets me handle anything from deep, polished corporate narration to energetic, high-pitched reads, and even wildly different characters (who sometimes speak to each other in the same scene!) This experience gave me the opportunity to get some extra training via the wonderful June Yoon and Gina Scarpa, upgrade my gear, build a state-of-the-art studio, and well... here we are!
Throughout everything, my favorite thing has always been being able to play pretend, finding that voice I always had inside of me ever since I was making funny noises and doing all kinds of impressions all those years ago.
That's something I'll cherish forever.
